Born on June 25, 1944 in Marlow, she was the daughter of the late John and Arbutus Houck.
Emma was a 1962 graduate of Martinsburg High School. She worked as an operator for C&P Phone Company where she met the love of her life, Howard Knipe and they were married in August 1965. She retired as a Division Line Secretary from Potomac Edison in 1996.
She loved spending time outdoors fishing with her husband and enjoyed her flowers, gardening, and canning. Emma was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Howard Albert Knipe; and her brother, Darrel Houck.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jane Rhodes and her brother, Henry Houck.
A private visitation will be held at Rosedale Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Friday, April 10, 2026 at 10am. Interment will follow in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of the Panhandle.
