

Franklin D. Orndorff Jr., age 77, of Falling Waters, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2025. Born on July 11, 1947, in Martinsburg, Frank was a devoted father, grandfather, and friend who touched the lives of those around him with quiet strength and unwavering love.
Frank is survived by his son, Eric Orndorff, and his wife, Aimee; his daughter, Jaimie Orndorff; and his beloved grandson, Jacksen Orndorff. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thesta “Flo” Cookus and Franklin D. Orndorff Sr.
A proud graduate of Martinsburg High School’s Class of 1965, Frank went on to serve his country with honor. He enlisted in the Air National Guard of West Virginia in 1966, serving as a Fire Protection Specialist with the 167th Civil Engineering Flight in Martinsburg. After six years of dedicated service, he was honorably discharged in 1972. During his time with the Air National Guard, he also pursued higher education, earning an Associate of Science degree from Shepherd College in 1971.
Frank built a distinguished 40-year career in data processing, excelling in various roles, including computer operations, programming, database administration, and project management. His meticulous attention to detail and problem-solving skills left a lasting impact on his field.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Frank was a man of many passions. He was an avid collector of PT Cruiser memorabilia and spent countless hours working on home improvement projects and restoring a classic 1960s Datsun Z. He had a deep love for animals, especially his cherished Yorkshire Terrier, Cricket. A lifelong fan of science fiction, Frank found joy in exploring new worlds through television and film.
Despite his quiet nature, Frank's devotion to his family was unwavering. He was a man of faith, attending church regularly and living by his beliefs. His love was not always expressed in words, but in the care, support, and steadfast presence he provided to those he held dear.
A private ceremony was held in his honor at Rosedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frank’s memory to Bethel Assembly of God.
His legacy of kindness, dedication, and quiet wisdom will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
