Born in Albany NY, Garfield was educated in Lansingburgh, NY. He was employed as an auto mechanic, roofer, carpenter, plumber, removed trees, drove a tractor for an orchard, did yard work, farm work and house repairs. He was a communicant of St Bernadette's Catholic Community.
Survivors include his father, Lawrence P Missenis and mother Elaine R Missenis of Hedgesville, WV; one daughter, Maria Missenis from Lansingburgh, NY, a sister Melanie from Schoharie, NY and a brother Allen Missenis from Zeeland, MI.
Visitation will be at the Rosedale Funeral Home on Monday from 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian death and burial will be celebrated at St Bernadette's Church on Main St in Hedgesville, WV. on Tuesday at 10am. Burial will be in St Peter's Cemetery in Hancock, MD.
