Born November 20, 1919 in Wilkes County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Virgil and Cora Parker.
Hazel was loved dearly by her family. Her passions were gardening, writing, and listening to gospel music.
She is survived by her daughter, Marie Reid and her husband, Truitt; her sons: Ernest Hedrick and wife, Vonnie and Carl Hedrick; brothers: John Henry Parker, Hessie Holcomb, Jonah Parker, and Clay Parker; nine grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Hedrick; and her sister, Agnes Brackett.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 6-8pm at Rosedale Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be on Thursday at 11am at the funeral home.
Interment will be on Saturday at Mountain View Cemetery in Ridgeway, Virginia.
