Horst Otto Sterr

Horst Otto Sterr, 81, of Florida passed away peacefully on June 7th, 2024 in Martinsburg, West Virginia. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was born September 29th, 1942, in Innsbruck, Austria to the late Wilhelm Sterr and Lona Goodell and is survived by his wife Yuzhen Sterr, children Qina Li, Eric Makely, AJ (Karen) Makely, Lea Ann (John) Lehmann, and Eric Sterr; his beloved grandchildren Ben, Chris, Jordan, Morgan, Dereck, Shawn, and Madison, and his great grandchildren Shiloh, River, Cameron, Averie, and Mason whom he loved tremendously.

Horst retired from the National Elevator Industry where he began working as an Elevator Mechanic in the Union at age 22. He was a proud Christian who had the kindest heart. He always knew how to make everyone in the room laugh while having the biggest most contagious smile on his face. He was the most giving person and helped many people in his life and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, June 18th, 2024 at 10:45am at Rosedale Cemetery in Martinsburg, West Virginia. If you are unable to attend, please say a prayer for Horst. He would have greatly appreciated it.
