

He was born in Savannah, Georgia on August 10, 1960 and was the son of Dorothy E. Mangram and the late John H. Mangram.
John was baptized at Rock Creek Baptist Church in Washington DC at the age of eight. He was educated in the DC Public School system and at the University of the District of Columbia where he studied radiology. He was employed at Dames and More Engineering Firm and then at Baker Engineers in Alexandria, Virginia where he met his queen, Veronica Morris.
In 1996 Pastor Mangram received and answered the calling to preach at Saint Michael’s Interdenominational Church, Bladensburg, Maryland, Bishop Dr. John L. Taylor, Pastor. In 1999 he received his degree from Washington Bible College in Lanham, Maryland. He became Pastor of New Capernaum Christian Fellowship Church in Forestville, Maryland for eleven years. Then he became Associate Minister and adult class Sunday School instructor for Greater Revelation Baptist Church in Fort Washington, Maryland, Rev. Dr. Elijah Marshall, Pastor.
Pastor Mangram studied at Andersonville Theological Seminary and was a member of the National Association of Christian Ministers. He also served as the Assistant Pastor, Adult Biblical Studies instructor, Director of the Men’s Ministry, Director of Christian Education, and Minister of the Noonday Prayer Ministry at Zion Baptist Church in Charles Town, Dr. Donald Anderson, Pastor.
On November 15, 2020, Pastor Mangram became Senior Pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Martinsburg. Outside of ministry, he enjoyed fishing, being a self-proclaimed chef, and shopping.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Veronica; his mother, Dorothy; mother-in-law, Fernzell; sister, Pam; brother-in-laws: Neal and Brandon; sister-in-law, Climate; three nieces: L’Oreal, Monique, Kiara; four nephews: Necho, Michael, Malik, and Solomon; a host of great nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; and a close childhood friend, Deacon Kevin Wyatt.
Friends will be received on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Martinsburg from 10am until the time of the Funeral Service at 11am which will be livestreamed on Rosedale Funeral Home’s Facebook Page. Interment will follow in Rosedale Cemetery.
