

Mary M. "Janice" Branson, 81 of Shepherdstown, WV, gained her heavenly wings on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at the Hospice of the Panhandle, Martinsburg, WV. Janice was born on March 1, 1944, in Charles Town, West Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Armstead and Maggie McDonald.
Janice was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church in Shepherdstown, WV and she was a 1962 graduate of Page Jackson High School. Janice began her career working with Tastee Freeze, National Fruit. and Norm Thompson. Janice retired after 30 years of dedicated service with Shepherd College.
Janice was a lifelong member of Asbury United Methodist Church, where she served on the church Usher Board, was a member of the Church Choir, Bible Study, and Prayer meetings. She was also a member of the Jefferson County NAACP, and she served on the Page Jackson High School Alumni Committee.
Janice's memory will live on with her husband, Clarence, of Shepherdstown, WV. They were blessed and shared 62 years of marital bliss. Her daughter, Liz and husband Adrian of Martinsburg, WV, sons, Carlton and wife Tina of Inwood, WV, and Michael, and wife Marisol of Martinsburg, WV. Grandchildren, Rae and husband Kendall, Rhuyan, Nicholas, Jourdan, and Addison Branson, Great-granddaughter, Nyla Coles, Two sisters, Ella Mae Twyman and Shirley Nelson. God Children, Dana Clark, Elijah and Gabriella Rosario. Special friends, John & Barbara Burger, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Janice was blessed to have her own Special "Caring" Angels. Our heartfelt thank you to our cousin, Curtis Grantham, niece, Cora Branson, and Caesarea (CeCe) with Home Instead. Their compassion, kindness, and respect were always given with the love they provided.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Armsted and Maggie McDonald, Brother, Armsted McDonald Jr., Sisters, Alice Wheeler and Nannie McDonald, Brother & Sister In-Law, Charles "Bobby" & Norma "Pat" Branson.
