Robert Benjamin Withrow

Robert Benjamin Withrow, 84 of Martinsburg, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2011. Born December 17, 1926 in Heizer Creek, Putnam County, WV; he was the son of the late Guy William Withrow and Mollie Buchannan Withrow Bailey.

Robert served our country in the Army during World War II and Korea and joined the WV Air National Guard. He worked as a material control supervisor for the WV Air National Guard for 37 years and 10 months.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 60 years, Barbara Jean Kay Withrow; three sons, Robert Lee Withrow and wife Cheryl of Martinsburg, David Ray Withrow of Martinsburg, and Michael Edward Withrow and wife Lisa of Martinsburg; two daughters, Brenda Kay Butts and husband Scott of North Augusta, SC, and Teresa Ann Withrow of Baton Rouge, LA; two sisters, Evelyn Shamblin of Orlando, FL, and Doris Wells of Vienna, WV. Robert will also be missed by eight grandchildren; Amy McCoy and husband Ardy, Kerry Cartledge and husband Donald, Scotty Butts and wife Tiffany, Heather Smith and husband Kevin, Derek Withrow, Sarah Withrow, Brian Withrow, and Mikie Withrow; and eight great grandchildren.

Robert is preceded in death by one brother, Guy W. Withrow, Jr.; one sister, Betty Lee Withrow; and one grandchild, Kathy Ann Butts.

Friends may call from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Rosedale Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 1, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Rosedale Funeral Home with Chaplain John Waidande officiating. Interment to follow at Rosedale Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Scotty Butts, Brian Withrow, Derek Withrow, Mikie Withrow, Ardy McCoy, Donald Cartledge, and Kevin Smith.

Honorary Pallbears are Bucky Hess and the Employees of Bucky’s LTD Auto Body, Inc.
