Starlette Jean Laughlin

Born November 9, 1947, in Kingwood, WV, she was the daughter of the late Wilma Jean Miller and Dailey R. Miller. Starlette graduated from Kingwood High School in 1965 and attended Fairmont State College before moving to Martinsburg in the late sixties. Since that time she worked at the Old National Bank, 3-M Corporation, Commercial Credit, Associates and Citi finance before retiring in 2000 due to health complications.

Starlette enjoyed reading, shopping, cooking, gardening, decorating her home, and spoiling her granddaughters and beloved Boston Terriers.

She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Edward Laughlin, sons, John R. Unger II and wife, Cara, of Martinsburg and Ryan M. Unger and wife, Jennifer, of Martinsburg, granddaughters, Kylie Aislynn and Katie Ann Unger, sister and brother-in–law, Charlotte and Joseph Giordano of Jackson, New Jersey, Aunts Helen Morehead of Boca Raton, FL. and Dorothy Wilson of Leesburg, FL, and several cousins.

She will be sadly missed by close friends Karen Klasnick of Broadway, VA, Sharon Crawford, Chrissy Brittner, Angie Hodgson, Gary Manley all of Martinsburg, and Willis George of Kingwood.

Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her mother and father-in law, George and Juanita Laughlin, of Shinnston, WV.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bedington United Methodist Church, 580 Bedington Rd., Martinsburg, WV.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made and sent to City Hospital, Attn. Pulmonary Dept., 2500 Hospital Dr., Martinsburg, WV 25401 or Briggs Animal Adoption Center 3731 Berryville Pike, Charles Town, WV 25414.
