He was born in Portland, Oregon on April 13, 1931 to Clayton & Catherine Evans, and then raised by his loving foster parents John & Mary Stranberg in Everett, WA.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He had a passion for reading the Bible, wood working, building boats, archery, gardening and painting amazing pictures. He was a Royal Ranger leader and loved teaching the word of God. Anyone who knew Clay could see the love, joy and compassion that he had in his heart. He absolutely loved life! He always had a smile on his face and was ready and raring to go get started on his next project. If he wasn't building something, then he was most likely giving someone a helping hand. His early professional career involved building boats for Reinell, and later retired from Boeing.
He is survived by his 3 children, Paul, Debbie & Steve, 14 Grandchildren and 19 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Jean, wife Lois and son-in-law, Thomas.
