

E. Lloyd Phillips, 89, passed away September 24, 2012 surrounded by his family at his home in Marysville, WA. He was born to Glenn and Lillie Phillips, June 18, 1923 on the family farm in Hodgman County, KS.
Lloyd graduated from Jetmore High School in Jetmore, KS and joined the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II. After the war, he left the farm and moved to Marysville, WA where he owned and operated a hardware store as well as doing local land development. During this time he also served on the Snohomish County and Marysville Search and Rescue team. Lloyd enjoyed woodworking, hunting, golfing but most of all playing with his grandkids.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Donna; siblings, Glenna McKinney, and Jack Phillips; and son-in-law, Shawn Gilfillan.
Lloyd is survived by his children, Sidra (Larry) Egge of Marysville, Tawni Gilfillan of Beaverton, OR, Burke (Judy) Phillips of Arlington, WA; sister, Franke Demoret; grandchildren, Chad and Allison Phillips, Shena Starbuck, Carly Gilfillan, Leah and Kirstie Egge; and great-granddaughter, Ainsley Starbuck. A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 29, 2012, 10:30 a.m. at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home, 801 State Ave., Marysville, WA, with a graveside service at 12 noon at Marysville Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Snohomish Co. Search and Rescue or Providence Hospice and Home Care of Snohomish County.
