Hildegard Braeul (Bornhof) passed away on December 30, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Peiskretscham, Oberschlesien, Germany on February 11, 1926. She was the oldest of five children: Alfred, Edeltraut, AnnaMarie and Barbel.
She did what needed to be done in order to make it through the challenges of being a civilian during WWII with her family. After the war she eventually settled in Bayreuth, Germany where she met M/Sgt Frank Braeul of the U.S. Army. They were married in Weiden, Germany on December 28, 1953. As with all military families they moved to different parts of the world. At Fort Ord, California their daughter Lotty Braeul (Stout) was born; In Nuremberg, Germany another daughter Mona Braeul (Post) was born. After settling in Marysville, WA, their son Arthur Braeul was born at Fort Lawton, Seattle, Washington.
Hildegard is the loving grandmother of Sarah Stout (Skattum), Nathan Stout, Kathryn Stout, Jeremy Post and Adriana Post (Devillier) as well as Stephanie Braeul and Michael Braeul. She is the great-grandmother of Malachi Roberts and Rylin Jae Post.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband who has been waiting for her in heaven as well as three of her four siblings.
A private family gathering will be held.
