Janet Diane Smith (née Fields), of Arlington, WA, passed away unexpectedly on March 5, 2025, at 75. She was born in Everett, WA, on December 6, 1949, to parents Clyde G. Fields and Eloise L. (Hetland) Fields.
Janet was the cornerstone of her family; she cared deeply for everyone and always put others before herself. She had an incredible green thumb, enjoying both vegetable and flower gardening. A devoted Seahawks fan, she sometimes had to watch games from the kitchen because of her yelling at the TV. Janet looked forward to her "procurement" days, enjoyed cooking and baking, and antiquing, especially collecting depression glass, which she proudly displayed in her home. Above all, Janet's greatest passion was her family - she delighted in holidays and any opportunity to see or talk with her loved ones.
Janet is survived by her loving husband, Robert Smith; her sister, Judith Yandle; her children: Audrey (Paul) Vehar, Robert (Kyla) Smith, Brad (Kerry) Roberts, and Shelly (Matt) Thiem; as well as many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her beloved and crazy cat, Mia. Janet was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Diana Fae Roberts.
Please remember Janet for the joy she brought to others in life, not the sadness of her passing. We will always carry her memory in our hearts.
In place of flowers, memorials may be made to The NOAH Center for Animal Rescue or a charity of your choice.
Janet's life will be celebrated on March 29, 2025, at her daughter Shelly's home. For details regarding time and location, please get in touch with the family.
