Joy started formal education at “Old Central” in Kirkland WA. She graduated from Kirkland HS with the class of 1941. Joy earned a license in cosmetology at the school in Bremerton after her graduation from HS and married Earl Roger Hill on February 7th 1942 in Seattle WA where they made their first home. Their son Roger was born in 1943 and daughter Sandra in 1946. They moved to the Skagit Hydro Electric Project (Newhalem) in 1950 where son Randy 1956 and son Michael 1961 were born. The couple retired from Seattle City Light in 1982 and moved to their retirement home in Tulalip, WA. Joy learned to play the violin and piano and with her husband, volunteered with other musicians(Old Time Fiddler group) to play music at social events and senior living facilities for many years in Snohomish County. Joy’s other enjoyable hobbies were painting, Knitting, Sewing and Crocheting. Preceding in death were son Roger, husband Earl granddaughter Debbie and great granddaughter baby Ashley. Joy is survived by daughter Sandra, sons Randy and Michael, 9 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and relatives. There will be no formal memorial service but friends and family of Joy can come to remember her at Schafer-Shipman Funeral Home on November 19th
