Kim Rene Hachtel-Whitbeck

Kim Rene Hachtel-Whitbeck passed away peacefully at home after a long, courageous battle against cancer on March 6th, 2012 in Marysville, WA. She was born on March 29th, 1955 to Ronald Ranniger and Molly Thurston in Seattle. She graduated from Inglemoor High School class of 1973, where she enjoyed cheerleading. She went onto raising a family with Larry Hachtel and working in the accounting field. She later met and married Richard Whitbeck. One of her great passions was spending time with her 6 grandchildren, CJ, Gavin, Kaden, Madeline, Alice and Ella. They brought a special joy to her life.

Kim is survived by her husband Richard Whitbeck, father Ronald (Patty) Ranniger, children; Kelly (Tim) Marks, Lisa Hachtel (Troy Wardlow), Jeremy Whitbeck, and Crystal Whitbeck, brothers; Rick (Robin) Ranniger, Ron (Lori) Ranniger, Jeff Ranniger and Robert (Randi) Thurston, sisters; Karen Thurston (Patrick Their), Jo (Butch) Wegscheid, Debbie (Wes) Fischer, and Sue (Larry) Baldwin.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Molly Thurston, her stepfather, Richard (Dick) Thurston, brothers; Robert (Robbie) Ranniger and Patrick Ranniger.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Kim’s honor can be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or Children's Diabetes Foundation.
