

Michael was preceded in death by his Wife, Catherine Borries; Mother, Shirley Borries; his Father, Charles Borries. He is survived by his loving Son, Gerald Borries and Amanda; Step-Son Scott Blair and Beverly, and Step-Son Charlie Beard; Sister Susie Borries; Brother Tom Borries and Beth; as well as 5 Grandchildren and 1 Great-Grandchild who were the pride and joy of his life.
Michael dedicated 20 years of service to our country in the United States Navy, including a deployment to Bahrain. He rose through the ranks and proudly retired as Chief. Following his military career, Michael worked at NOAA in facilities maintenance.
In the 90s, Michael was deeply involved with the Boy Scouts, serving as a Scout Leader and district camping commissioner while supporting his son Gerald's scouting journey. He was also a proud and active member of the Granite Falls Eagles club, where he served as Aries President and held many other leadership roles throughout the years.
In his retirement, Michael found great joy in traveling to Sekiu, Washington, where he could pursue his passion for fishing and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the Pacific Northwest. One of his favorite spots to take his close friends and teach them the ways of relaxation.
Services will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery on June 20th at 9:00 am. A memorial service will follow on Sunday, June 22nd at 12:00 pm at the Granite Falls Eagles.
Michael's legacy of service, leadership, and devotion to family will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed.
