Peter Oosterwyk

Pete was born May 9, 1946 in The Hauge, the Netherlands.

Pete and his family immigrated to the Marysville area from the Netherlands in the mid-1950s. After graduating from Marysville High School in 1965, he continued his education by attending baking school. Pete then joined the family business, Oosterwyk's Dutch Bakery located in Marysville. Pete was a very skilled and accomplished baker who took much pride in his work. He was dedicated to his profession and could be found at the bakery every morning long before dawn. Pete's greatest passions were family, classic cars, raising birds, photography and socializing with friends.

Pete was preceded in death by his mother, Nellie Oosterwyk; and brother-in-law, Jerry Harding.

Pete will be greatly missed by his father, Gerard Oosterwyk of Marysville WA; sisters, Marja Oosterwyk of Marysville, WA and Rietta Harding of Ellensburg WA; nephew, Jeffrey Harding and son Aidan of Marysville WA; nieces, Alicia (Les) Reed and children Morgan, Aislynn and Allison of Coleville CA, and Jennifer Harding of Marysville WA.

A memorial service will be held on November 8, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Schaefer Shipman Funeral Home in Marysville. There will be a reception following the service at Oosterwyk's Dutch Bakery, 1513 3rd Street in Marysville.
