Rae Janet (Roy) Chacos, age 72, passed in grace and in the arms of her beloved family in her Marysville, Washington home on December 17, 2014. Born in Ottawa, Canada on July 27, 1942, Rae was one of four children to her mother and father, William and Muriel Roy, both of whom preceded her in death. As a Lake Washington High School graduate, Rae commenced her education at Cornish Art School wherein she enhanced her love for watercolor painting. On December 14, 1963, the stunning Rae married her husband, Michael A. Chacos, Sr. in Minneapolis, Minnesota. As the Vice President of Health and Pension Services Inc. of Marysville, Rae spent the next 30 years rearing her four children prior to retiring. Rae’s dedication to the Orthodox Christian faith was witnessed in all aspects of her life as she was known to have touched each person in her life in a loving and deeply compassionate way. Although she became a brilliant watercolorist, enjoyed cooking, and gardening, Rae’s most treasured time was always that spent with her family including her husband, three siblings, 11 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Rae will now join her brother Robert Roy in peace as he, too, preceded her in death, while Rae’s memory will be kept by those she left behind to include her husband Michael Chacos, Sr.; sister, Margaret Woskett of Burns Lake, British Columbia; brother, David Roy of eastern Washington; daughter, Christina Chacos of Marysville; daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Arnold Kirbyson of Woodinville; daughter and son-in-law, Micheal (Mia) and James Scott of Arlington; son, Michael Chacos, Jr. of Marysville; daughter, Michelle Corbin-Terry of Minneapolis; grandchildren, Mikey, Jordan, Brittany, Brook, Christina, Madeline, Alexi, Colby, Mitchell, Tyler, Jack; great-grandchild, Jadon. The Orthodox Christian Funeral will be held on Monday, December 22, 2014 at 6:30pm at St. Andrews Orthodox Church, Arlington, Washington with a Memory of Life Celebration immediately following. Floral contributions may be sent to St. Andrews Orthodox Church.
