Vickie had a zest for life especially in the artistic realm. She loved doing wedding flowers and creating something out of, you name it. As the artist she was, there was a time we went for a family picnic in the National Forest. At the top of the mountain was a lookout tower. We climbed up top and could see the perfect picnic spot near a large pond. We enjoyed a lovely meal and as we were gathering our things to pack up, Vickie grabbed a paper bag, along with a few pieces of Charcoal from a previous campfire. She sat for a few minutes sketching the scenery of the pond and the foliage surrounding it. She even added a doe and her fawn drinking from the pond. It was oh so many years ago, yet I don't even have to close my eyes to see how special that day was and how an old crumpled bag and a piece of Charcoal could be transformed into such a beautiful piece of art. She was truly a visionary when her artistic talents came to play. She even painted windows in the whole town of Granite Falls one year. That was truly a Merry Christmas that year. Her characters came to life.
She also loved and enjoyed her 17 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great granddaughters.
