Bridget McCabe

Born on August 1, 1932, in Michelstown, County Cork, Ireland, Bridget brought with her the warmth and strength of her Irish roots when she immigrated to the United States in 1952. She built a life filled with love, family, and unwavering faith.

Bridget was married to the late Bernard McCabe, who tragically passed away in 1963 after just nine years of marriage. Despite the early loss of her husband, Bridget remained a pillar of strength and dedication as she raised their three children: the late Bernard McCabe, Mary Schneider, and Patricia McCabe.

A devoted and proud grandmother, Bridget leaves behind four grandchildren: Ashleigh Henchy (Michael), Deirdre DeFranco (Roger), Samantha McCabe, and Kristyn Raftice (Patrick), and seven cherished great-grandchildren who brought endless joy to her later years.

Bridget’s life was marked by her deep faith, love of cooking, and passion for the New York Rangers. But above all, she loved her family fiercely and unconditionally. Her warm heart, strength, and generosity touched all who knew her. She was adored by her family and friends alike and will be dearly missed.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Monday, May 12, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in her honor on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at St. James Roman Catholic Church in Seaford, NY. A private cremation will follow.

Bridget’s legacy of love, faith, and family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
