Gerard J. Woodard

Loved by many and survived by his beloved family and friends, Gerard J. Woodard of Massapequa passed away May 26th, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and laughter. Gerard, a proud and devoted retired detective of both the NYPD and Amtrak PD, dedicated his life to protecting and serving others.

Renowned for his reliability and unwavering strength, Gerard was a true rock in the lives of those he touched. His dry sense of humor brought joy and light to countless situations, and his generosity knew no bounds. Always willing to share what he had with others, he exemplified compassion and kindness in every aspect of his life.

More than just a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Gerard was a pillar of his community, respected and admired by all who knew him. His impact reached far and wide, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him.

Visitation to honor Gerard's memory will be held on Tuesday, June 4th, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. A funeral mass will take place at Maria Regina Church in Seaford, NY, on Wednesday at 9:45 AM.

In the wake of Gerard's passing, may his memory continue to inspire and uplift those who were touched by his presence. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten, his spirit living on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
