James was born in New York on July 28, 1931. He shared a devoted and loving marriage of 65 years with his beloved wife, Rosalie, who predeceased him.
He was a proud and dedicated father to Joseph Mauro (Laura) and James Mauro. James was a cherished grandfather to Daniel and Andrew, and a loving great-grandfather to Adrianna and Logan, all of whom brought him immense joy and pride.
James was predeceased by his siblings, Nickie Mauro and Mikie Mauro.
He worked as a foreman for the Nassau County Parks Department, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to his community.
In his free time, James enjoyed crabbing, gardening, and wrestling—simple pleasures that reflected his appreciation for the outdoors and life’s everyday moments.
James will be remembered for his devotion to family, his hardworking nature, and the quiet strength he carried throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
