
Betty Lee Mains, 88, of Maysville died Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at the Care Center at Kenton Pointe. She was the widow of Elza Lee Mains who died June 8, 2000. The couple had celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary on February 4, 2000 prior to Mr. Mains’ death. Mrs. Mains was a member of the Highland Christian Church, a graduate of Minerva High School and retired as the food service manager with the Mason County School System. She was born in Dover, Kentucky on November 2, 1924 the daughter of the late Clarence Lunsford and Jessie Rigdon Lunsford Carpenter. She is survived by four daughters, Sue Helmel (Tom) of Louisville, KY, Jean Sargent (Don) of Maysville, KY, Debbie Manning (Tommy) of LaGrange, KY and Martha Cooper of Maysville, KY; four grandchildren, Cindy Ring (Tony) of Maysville, KY, Carey Cline (Ashely) and Tommy Manning, Jr (Allison) both of LaGrange, KY and Michael Helmel (Cristin) of Louisville, KY; six great grandchildren, Jacob Ring, Zach Ring, Elizabeth Manning, Charlotte Manning, Bailey Helmel and Camden Helmel; one sister, Mary Ann Bach of Mt. Sterling, KY; several nieces and nephews and her beloved dogs, Buffy and Gracie. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Lawrence Lunsford and two sisters, Edna Arthur and Helen Mefford. Funeral services for Betty Lee Mains will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Tuesday, October 8, 2013 with Rev. Larry Manning, Rev. Lonnie Blosser and Rev. Bruce Heller officiating. Burial will be in the Rosemont Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tony Ring, Ashley Cline, Tommy Manning, Jr., Michael Helmel, Jacob Ring and Zach Ring. Honorary Pallbearers will be George Arthur, Ricky Mefford, Eddie Mefford, Noah Manning and Ralph Bach, Jr. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 6 to 8 PM.
