

Charles C. Bailey, 87, of Manchester, Ohio died Sunday, October 16, 2016 at the Care Center at Kenton Pointe. Mr. Bailey retired from Browning Manufacturing and was also engaged in farming. He was a member of the McColm’s Chapel Methodist Church, a member of Senior Friend’s and the Southern Ohio Draft Horse Association. Charles enjoyed his horses and was an avid fan of the Mason County Royals. He had a great sense of humor and never met a stranger and he will be greatly missed. He was born in Fleming County, Kentucky on January 5, 1929 the son of the late James Edward Bailey and Ettie Lula Hester Bailey. He is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years plus, Evelyn Curtis Bailey. The couples wedding attendants were Bill and Bertha Preston. Survivors also include his two sons, James (Christy) Bailey and John D. Bailey both of Manchester, OH; his two daughters, Rhonda (Scotty) Howard of Maysville, KY and Paula (Myron) Highfield of Cincinnati, OH; six grandchildren, Izzy, Wesley, Jacob, Sara, Matthew and Jennifer; seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Phoebe Coffey of Maysville, KY and Edna Ruth Litzinger of Augusta, KY; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Wood Bailey and Calvin Bailey and two sisters, Gracie Bailey and Dorothy Bailey. Funeral services for Charles C. Bailey will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 12:00 PM, Wednesday, October 19, 2016 with Pastor Danny Welch officiating. Burial will be in the Washington Baptist Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wesley Bailey, Jacob Bailey, Matthew Highfield, Scott Howard, Myron Highfield and Chris Jenkins. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM.
