
Clarence Henry Gill, 95, Dover, died Monday, March 18, 2013 at the VA Medical Center Hospice Unit in Lexington. Mr. Gill was born in Mason County, September 25, 1917 the son of the late Alex and Lou McDowell Gill. He worked for construction companies in the Mason county area and for many years Henry took care of the Rosemont Cemetery in Dover. He had been appointed a Kentucky Colonel and was an avid fisherman regardless of the weather. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He wife Florence DeAtley Gill died on August 3, 2009, at her death she and Henry had been married for 68 years. Mr. Gill is survived by a daughter Barbara (Wendell) Wood of Dover, a son Gary (Katrina) Gill of Dover, two grandchildren, Judy Wood and Greg Wood, and one great grandchild Steven Wood. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Ellen Mains, and Mary Strasbaugh, and four brothers, Sam, Robert, George, and Jim Gill. Funeral services for Henry Gill will be Wednesday, March 20 at 1 P.M. at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home with Rev. Jack McElfresh officiating. Burial will follow in the Rosemont Cemetery.
