Hilda R Reed

Hilda R. Reed, 80, of Maysville, Kentucky died Monday, December 15, 2014 at the Meadowview Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Reed was the widow of Harold “Buck” Reed who died in 1980. She retired from Comprehend, Inc., was a self-employed beautician, a member of the Simon Kenton VFW Post 2734 Ladies Auxiliary and the Maysville Professional Business Women’s Club where she had once served as President. Mrs. Reed was born in Augusta, Kentucky on December 11, 1934 the daughter of the late Lacy and Inez Bailey Miller. She is survived by her three children, Deborah (Roger) Riehle of Brooksville, KY; Shanna (George) Garrett of Aberdeen, OH and Jeffrey (Wendy) Reed of Maysville, KY; Ten grandchildren, Crystal (Paul) Thayer, Tracy (Dustin) Pauley, Rikki Riehle, Matthew (Danielle) Garrett, Jeffrey (Beverly) Reed II, Heather (Donnie) Reed Starrett, Dylan Reed, Shannon (Tim) Frasure, Misty Garrett and Kristi (Tom) Crevier; Ten great- grandchildren, Colton Thayer, Leyton Thayer, Trey Reed, Emma Reed, Kayya Garrett, Ciera Maher, Mason Maher, Morgan Frasure, Sam Crevier and Karter Moran. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Vada Crevier, her brother Robert Lee Miller and her sisters, Ruby Snapp, Lena Kirker and Blanche Rosser. Funeral services for Hilda Reed will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Thursday, December 18, 2014 with Minister James Watkins officiating. Burial will be in the Green Acres Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Paul Thayer, Colton Thayer, Jeffrey Reed II, Jeff Reed, Matt Garrett and Dylan Reed. Honorary Pallbearers will be George garrett, Roger Riehle and Dustin Pauley. Visitation will be held at the funeral home

Wednesday, December 17, 2014 from 5 to 8 PM with a memorial rite performed by the Simon Kenton VFW Ladies Auxiliary at 6:00 PM. Memorials may be made to the Simon Kenton VFW Post 2734, Hwy 9, Maysville, KY 41056.
