Lawrence H. Gallagher

Larry Gallagher, 77, of Aberdeen, Ohio, husband of Marty Gallagher passed away Friday, January 10, 2014 at Meadowview Regional Medical Center. Mr. Gallagher was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on March 16, 1936 the son of the late Joseph and Vera Samuelson Gallagher. Since 1961, he was the sole proprietor of Gallagher Service Centers located in Ripley, Morrow and Aberdeen, Ohio. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was stationed in Camp Darby near Pisa, Italy. Mr. Gallagher was an active member of the Aberdeen Lion’s Club and a past member of the Ripley and Aberdeen Volunteer Fire Departments and a member of the Aberdeen United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of forty-five years, Marty Swearingen Gallagher and one son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Jennifer Gallagher; his sister-in-law, Dr. Bonnie Johnsen and three nephews, Stephen F. Johnsen, III, Michael M. Johnsen and Joseph M. Johnsen all of Maryland. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Dixie Swearingen. Funeral services for Larry Gallagher will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 1:00 PM, Thursday, January 16, 2014. Burial will be in the Hickory Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5 to 8 PM.
