Raymond Hugh Reid

Raymond H. Reid, 96, of Maysville, died Sunday, January 31, 2016 at the Care Center at Kenton Pointe. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on April 15, 1919 the son of the late Isabelle Reid and was a veteran of the US Army Air Corp serving in the Pacific during WWII.

A lifelong employee of DP&L, Raymond retired in 1980 after starting with them at the age 18 as part of a high school co-op program.

Raymond is survived by his son Ronald (Kathy) Reid of Cincinnati, OH; step-children, Monte W. (Teri) Clos of Falmouth, KY, Stephen A. (Lorrie) Clos of Wake Forest, NC, Deborah Clos Thompson (Ken) of Goshen , OH and Rodney K. (Tamara) Clos of Lakeland, FL; grandchildren, Matthew Reid and Emily (Elias) Piaga and a large number of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Besides his mother, Raymond was preceded in death by wife of 25 years Edna E. Mullikin Reid, step-son, Denny E. Fenner and by his first wife, Mary J. Gavin Reid.

Graveside Services for Raymond H. Reid will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, Februay 4, 2016 at the Shannon Cemetery with Pastor Evan Meyers officiating. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Care Center at Kenton Pointe, 1435 Kenton Pointe Way, Maysville, KY 41056.

The arrangements are under the direction of the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home.
