Mrs. Avis Leola Sears Wilson, age 88, of McDonough, GA passed away June 16, 2016. Mrs. Wilson was born in Glenwood, GA the daughter of the late Runette and Franklin Sears. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter William Wilson and her sisters, Frankie Sears and Chris Flad; brothers, Kearney Sears and Preston Sears. Mrs. Wilson enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, cooking, gardening and shopping. Survivors are her children, Julianne Wright of McDonough, Christie Beth Wilson of McDonough, Vickie Jo Matheson of Wilmington, NC and Frank Wilson (Karen) of Jonesboro; 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service for Mrs. Wilson will be on Sunday, June 19, 2016 – 2:00 PM in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Pastor Chuck Chambers officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens.
