
Bernard Lee Hooten, 93 of McDonough passed away on December 27, 2025. He was born on July 31, 1932 in McDonough, Georgia to the late Fred and Florria Hooten. Bernard was also preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Adalene Tolleson Hooten and his seven siblings.
Mr. Hooten was an Army Veteran, and he retired from General Motors after 40 years and was a member and deacon of Philippi Baptist Church. Bernard spent a lot of time tinkering with wood and cars and he was an avid gardener. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing.
Mr. Hooten is survived by his children, Karen Hooten of McDonough, Lynn Hooten (John) Toman of McDonough and Ken Hooten of North Carolina; grandchildren, Brianna Toman (Josh) Holmes, Kyle (Ivy) Toman and Kendall Hooten; great grandchildren, Harper, Hartley and Kinsley; one sister, Mary Lena Sims of McDonough; and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, January 2, 2026 at Haisten Funerals & Cremations in McDonough. Funeral services will follow at 2:00pm in our chapel. Interment will be held at the City of McDonough Memorial Cemetery.
