Betty Jean Chafin Walker

Mrs. Betty Jean Chafin Walker, age 85, of McDonough, GA passed away March 22, 2015. Mrs. Walker was born in Fulton County, the daughter of the late Lillian Owen Chafin and James Troy Chafin Sr. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Carmen Bass; brothers, James Troy Chafin Jr. and Clinton Chafin. Mrs. Walker was a member of First Baptist Church and the Gleaners Sunday School Class. She taught school at Henry County High School for 21 years. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing bridge and shopping. Survivors are her husband of 64 plus years, A. W. “Buddy” Walker of McDonough; children and their spouses, Joan and Dickie Bass of McDonough, Pam and Sam Johnson of McDonough and Andy and Julie Walker of Lavonia; 7 beautiful grandchildren, and 10 precious great grandchildren; brother, Edgar Owen Chafin “Boochie” of McDonough; several nieces and nephews. A visitation for Mrs. Walker will be held Tuesday, March 24, 2015 – 6-8:00 PM at Haisten Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 – 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church in McDonough with Dr. Charles Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Kelly Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
