Mr. Charles David Bledsoe

Mr. Charles David Bledsoe, age 68, of McDonough, Georgia passed away May 6, 2014. Charles was born in Porterdale, GA the son of the late Winford Wade and Mary Lucia Turner Bledsoe. He was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Tina Marie Bledsoe. Charles was a member of Turner United Methodist Church. He served his country in the US Marines. He retired with 30 plus years as Director of the Henry County Recreation Department. Charles enjoyed spending time with family and friends, being active with his grandchildren, his dogs, sports, yard work, dancing, and his 51 Ford “The Blue Goose”. Survivors are his loving wife of 22 years, Ellen Groover Bledsoe of McDonough; children, William C. Bledsoe of Grants, NM, Michael D. Bledsoe of McDonough, Todd Linward Birchfield (Ruthanna) of McDonough, Kelly Birchfield Buttram (Carter) of Montgomery, AL; grandchildren, Megan Ann Bledsoe, Jacob David Bledsoe, Denis Bledsoe, Corey Adam Hall, Megan Brittany Hall, and Emily Mikala Hall; brothers, Wade Bledsoe (Eleanor) of McDonough, Dan Bledsoe (Ann) of McDonough; and a niece, Anna Marie Echols (Terry) of McDonough. Funeral service for Charles will be Friday, May 9, 2014 – 11:00 AM at Turner United Methodist Church with Rev. James Miller, Pastor Dave Riley and Rev. Leon Baxter officiating. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8:00 PM.
