Cheri Jackson

Cheri Jackson, age 64, of McDonough, Georgia passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2021. She was born on May 22, 1957 in Atlanta, Georgia to James and Annie Jackson. Cheri was preceded in death by her father, James C. Jackson, her sister, Rebecca E. Johnson and her nephew, James K. Johnson, Jr. She was a retired U.S. Navy veteran and a pharmacist with the Department of Public Health. She is survived by her mother, Annie Jackson of McDonough, niece: Elizabeth A Fenimore (Husband Philip L) great niece: Sarah E Fenimore, great nephew: Anthony J Fenimore and cousins. She served in the U.S. Navy both active duty and reserve and Retired as Ltcdr. She volunteered to serve as an active reservist in Operation Desert Storm. After her service she obtained her PhD in Pharmacology and then worked in various roles as a pharmacist, including working in retail and hospital pharmacies. Cheri loved animals of all kinds, including horses, cats, and dogs. She always had a pet. Cheri loved her mother with all her heart and was not only her caretaker, but also her best friend and companion. She enjoyed gardening and was especially proud of her lemon tree and took joy in sharing “the fruits of her labor” with friends and family. A Celebration of Life will be held at Haisten Funeral Home on Monday, November 1, 2021 at 11:00 AM.
