Cosby Carl Hilderbrand Jr.

Cosby Carl Hilderbrand, Jr, age 63, of McDonough, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, June21, 2017. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia to Virginia Lucille and Cosby Carl Hilderbrand Sr. on August 12, 1953. He is preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Hilderbrand; his first wife, Susan Hilderbrand; and his brother-in-law, Bill Lenderman.

Carl enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Hunting, golfing and playing the guitar were among his many hobbies, and a trip to the beach was his ideal vacation. He also enjoyed cooking for his family and attended Sharon Baptist Church. Carl worked for Otis Elevator for 37 years.

Carl is survived by his loving wife of 7 years: Darlene Hilderbrand of McDonough, GA; children: Cosby (Liz) Hilderbrand III, of Bloomfield, IN and Caryn Hilderbrand of Bloomington,IN; stepson: Doug (Cindy) Barrow; grandchildren: Izabelle, Marley, Amya and Kelsey Hilderbrand and Hayden, Chloe, Jillian, and Brynn Barrow; siblings: Terry Lenderman, Mark (Melanie) Hilderbrand, Joe (Leslie) Hilderbrand and Bill (Amy) Hilderbrand and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service to honor Carl’s life will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 beginning at 3:00PM at the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Pastor Greg McGaha officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, June 23, 2017 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Saturday, June 24, 2017 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM. An interment will be held at a later date in Bloomfield, IN at Dishman Cemetery under the direction of Jenkins Funeral Home.
