

David Bruce Crawford, age 82 of McDonough, GA, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026 surrounded by his family. He was born September 24, 1943 in Thomaston, GA to the late Ryan and Runelle Crawford. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers Charles and Bob Crawford.
David graduated from Gordon Military College in 1963, and then headed off to Southern Poly Tech where he earned a Civil Engineering degree in 1965. David co-opted with the State of GA DOT to put himself through college. He also played in a band. After college he worked as a city engineer for the City of Forest Park, GA, where he was promoted to Planning and Zoning Director. He was an entrepreneur who dabbled in many different areas. He owned a trailer manufacturing company, worked in real estate development, and in residential home building.
David married Connie, the love of his life, on April 29, 1967. Two years later they had their son Wade Crawford. He moved his family to Henry County in 1984. He served as the Henry County Commissioner from 1988 - 1992. He also served as county wide chairman.
Family was a big part of his life, especially spending time with his two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He loved taking family trips, especially out of the country.
His faith was also a big part of his life. He was a lifelong member of Emmaus Primitive Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for many years.
David is survived by his wife Connie Hanson Crawford; son Wade (Cindy) Crawford; grandchildren Ryan (Taylor) Crawford and Madeline (Peyton) Bonner; great grandchildren Cohen Crawford and Collier Crawford; sisters Martha Harrell, Mary Brownlee, and Rosemund (Wayne) Watson; and many nieces, nephews, beloved family members and friends.
A visitation will be held at Haisten Funerals & Cremations, 1745 Zack Hinton Parkway, McDonough, GA 30253, US, on Thursday, April 2, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Following will be David's Celebration of Life at 2:00 pm in the Haisten Chapel. The Committal Service will take place at Eastlawn Memorial Park, 640 McGarity Rd, McDonough, GA 30252, US, on April 2, 2026, after services.
