

Pastor David Watson, age 67, of McDonough, Georgia passed away on August 20, 2016. David was born in Experiment, Georgia to the late Horace and Pinella Barrett Watson. In addition to his parents, step daughter, Janet Byars, preceded him in death. Mr. Watson was a true disciple of the Lord and mentored many people during his 33 year career serving as a pastor in Assemblies of God. After retiring, David and his family joined Pinecrest Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, watching sports, and eating good food. David was a true people person and never met a stranger. He will truly be missed. David leaves behind his loving wife, Deborah Watson of McDonough; children of a previous marriage, David Watson Jr. and his wife, Kelly of Griffin, Dana Bonazza and her husband, Howard of Griffin, Tim Watson and his wife, Jennifer of Palmetto, and step daughter, Sandra Grossman of Atlanta; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Jo Anne Allen and her husband, David of Griffin, and June Parker and her husband, Terry of Griffin; brothers, Donnie Watson and his wife, Deb of Lexington, North Carolina and Michael Watson and his wife, Debbie of Milner; and several nieces and nephews. A service to honor David’s life will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 beginning 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Brother Tom Miller officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service on Wednesday at Eastlawn Memorial Park in McDonough.
