Donald Wayne Merritt

Donald Wayne Merritt of Stockbridge, GA passed away January 2, 2021 at the age of 65. Wayne was born in Atlanta, GA to the late Donald Merritt and Vera Smith and grew up to be what some describe as the ultimate "tinkerer". If something didn't work or needed refinishing or fixing then Wayne was on the job. Wayne loved making memories with his family, many of which involved the beach. His time at Nalley Motor Trucks saw him advance from diesel mechanic to management. Wayne could always find the joy in life and was ready to share a laugh or joke with anyone. If you were never on the receiving end of one of Wayne's pranks he probably didn't know you well enough or you actually believed him when he said "it wasn't me".

Wayne's legacy lives on with his wife Mary Ellen Merritt, sons Donny (Amy) Merritt and Michael Merritt, grandchildren Conner Merritt, Allie Merritt, Cadence Merritt and Major Merritt as well as his Sister Becky Miles and a host of nieces, nephews, and an uncle.

Wayne's family will receive friends on Thursday January 7 from 5pm until 8pm at Haisten Funeral Home and a funeral service will be held on Saturday January 9 at 11:30am in the funeral home chapel.
