Eli Boggs Feltner, age 91, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at his home in McDonough, Georgia. He was born on February 19, 1934, in Hazard, Kentucky, to the late Edward Feltner and Cynthia Ann Feltner. He graduated from Buckhorn High School in Hazard and throughout his youth he loved nothing more than playing basketball. He excelled in high school and received a scholarship for University of Louisville where he played for one year before returning home to care for his mother. He remained active in sports throughout his life, enjoying basketball, softball, tennis, and running. Eli worked for Kraft Foods in Decatur, Georgia for 35 years, retiring in 1992 as Director, Distribution. He later went to work for Bellamy Strickland in McDonough, Georgia, where he worked for 25 years; first as a driver, moving cars, and later as an ambassador for the company he loved so much by serving customers in the front lobby. Eli was a Christ-follower and strived to live a life that honored his Heavenly Father. He cherished his family and worked hard to exemplify the core values of his faith. He took deep pride in his hometown and lessons instilled from his early life. He never met a stranger and was an extremely loyal friend. Eli is survived by his wife Joan of 69 years and will be dearly missed by her. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four brothers, William, Harold, Wayne, and Dewey and his two sisters, Margie and Jama. Eli leaves behind two daughters and a ‘son-in-love’, Leslie (Jeff) West and Kelly Pickel; two grandchildren, Olivia (Jonathan) Walker, and Taylor Pickel; and four great-grandchildren Everleigh (8), Reid (7), Raeleigh (6), and Eliza (2); as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. A service to honor Eli’s life will take place on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Salem Baptist Church at 1724 Highway 155 N., McDonough, Georgia. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the service begins. Pastor Rick Statham will officiate. A graveside service will follow at East Lawn Cemetery in McDonough at which Pastor Glenn Anderson will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Recreation Ministry at Salem Baptist Church.
