

Gregory Wiley Bowen Sr, age 68, of McDonough, went to be with his beloved wife on January 25, 2025. He was a devoted husband, father, Pawpaw, and brother to us all. A graduate of Forest Park High (1974) Greg was born on September 28, 1956, to Parks Phillip and Helen Leota Bowen in Pensacola, FL. He was proceeded in death by his parents. Greg spent 24 years as a meat cutter for various grocery stores in the Atlanta metro area. In the late 90s he changed careers to work in the cabinet industry. Greg’s started at the ground floor, but his hard work and dedication allowed him to quickly work his way up in companies. He retired in 2018 from Viacon Inc in Stockbridge, GA where he was a drafter. Greg’s hobbies included wood working, working on cars, watching football, and NASCAR races. Greg was a big Georgia Tech fan. Always cheering on the Ramblin Wreck during Saturday afternoons in the fall. He was an incredible wood worker. He could seemingly build anything out of wood. He built many furniture pieces for his house. For 15 year, he built shoeshine chairs for Classic Shoeshine. In his younger years he would spend time working on cars with friends from work. Greg married the love of his life, Connie, in 1985. Greg and Connie loved to have fun. When they were first married, they worked as managers in a grocery store. They would have coworkers over on nights were everyone would be off to shoot pool, throw darts, and just have a good time. They were married until Connie’s death in February of 2024. Greg is survived by his brother Michael Franklin Bowen, sister Harriett Helene Bowen, Daughter Kristy Bowen Reeves, son-in-law Jerry Reeves, their three children, his son Gregory Wiley Bowen Jr, his daughter-in-law Ashley Bowen, and his grandson Hudson.There will be a viewing at noon on Friday, January 31th at Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough, GA with a service to follow at 1. He will be laid to rest next to Connie at Eastlawn Memorial Park in McDonough, GA.
