

Ivan Jarvis Floyd, of Hampton, Georgia transitioned suddenly on November 24, 2021. Ivan was passionate about his family, his work and his life. He had a special love for helping people. He also made it known that he was the biggest University Of Alabama fan around. ROLL TIDE. However, his greatest love was for his grandkids. Ivan was born October 13, 1958 in Montgomery, AL to Mr. Willie Ashley and the late Ms. Mary Lee Floyd. Ivan accepted Christ in his life at an early age. He was devoted to the church and loved giving back to the community. He graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in 1977. From high school, Ivan attended Alabama State where he majored in Psychology. Ivan was a U.S Army veteran; he served 12 years. After meeting and creating a special bond, Ivan married Melody on June 27, 1989. Ivan was employed with Nestle DC for 28 yrs where he retired as IT/System Analyst. His laughter was infectious and he had a voice that echoed to let you know his presence was nearby. Ivan never met a stranger. He was a special person and a true gift from God that would be a instant friend to anyone he met. He would crack jokes to make you smile or sing the gospel to make you feel the love of God. Ivan would tell stories of how he was inspired by his grandfather Mr. Frank Floyd and was motivated to be a hard worker like his grandfather. He would often remind you of the impact his mother had on him by the many lessons she taught him about life. His conversation could start with ROLL TIDE or they could end with ROLL TIDE. This was the true essence of Ivan Jarvis Floyd. Mr. Ivan Jarvis Floyd leaves to cherish his memory, wife Melody Floyd of Hampton, GA; son, Taylor Ivan Floyd; son, Ivan Franc Floyd; daughter, Kimmala Floyd; son, Ivan Jarvis Floyd, II and daughter Jordan Floyd. Stepson, Courtney Taylor; Step daughter, Chastity Taylor; Father, Willie Ashley; Twin sister, Iris Floyd (Alphonsa); Sisters: Jacqueline Ashley, Janet Bailey, Stephanie Parker; Brothers: Arron Ashley, Virgil Ashley and Paul Ashley. Aunt Mary Watts (Babe Ruth), Uncle Charlie Frank Floyd and a host of grandkids, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that he treasured and loved. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough, Georgia. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park in McDonough. The family will receive friends from 3:00 - 6:00pm on Tuesday, November 30, 2021.
