James Don Huie Sr.

Mr. James Don Huie, Jr., age 78, of Locust Grove, GA passed away February 1, 2018. Mr. Huie was born in Fulton County, the son of the late Thelma Pauline Dodson Huie and Oliver Malcomb Huie. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Oliver Malcomb Huie, Jr.; and a sister, Mildred Pauline Holloway; and a stepson, Ty Ellison.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Tammy Huie of Locust Grove, GA; son, James Don Huie Jr. of Stockbridge; step children, Tonya Farmer (Gregg) of Macon and Tara Kelly (Dan) of McDonough; 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Huie enjoyed spending time with family and friends, big game hunting all over the country and especially in South America. He was World Champion in both Skeet and Trap shooting. Mr. Huie was a life time member of the NRA. He worked most of his working career for Florida Rock as a high voltage electrician. He owned Don’s Taxidermy and Triple H Gun Club. He was an avid UGA fan.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM. Funeral service will follow in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 7, 2018. Interment will follow in the Locust Grove Cemetery.
