

James Nicholas "Jimmy" "Nick" Lomax III passed away unexpectedly on February 14, 2025 in Jackson, Georgia. Born on October 13, 1955, James Nicholas Lomax III led a remarkable life filled with dedication and service to our country. James is predeceased by his mother, Ann Powers Moore; his father, James Nicholas Lomax Jr.; his sister, Carol Galella (Vincent). James is Survived by his loving wife Wanda of 35 years; his sister, Lynn Lomax; his brothers, John Lomax (Liz), and Richard Lomax (Jewel); his son, James Nicholas Lomax IV (Lindsey), his daughters, Jennifer Quinn (Marcus) ; Connie McCain (Christopher); and Kaitlyn Allen. His beloved grandsons, Remington and Tucker Allen; Colton and Levi Lomax; and Jesse McCain. James served honorably in the United States Army for 21 years, achieving the rank of MSG (E8) during his distinguished military career. He received numerous awards and decorations. He attended college at St. Leo University and received a bachelors degree in business/accounting. He retired from DDHS/OIG/OAS after 23 years. James was a devoted husband, father, gramps, and friend. He was a Catholic/Christian. He enjoyed basketball, football, and baseball especially his beloved New York Yankees even when they were having an off season.
