James Larry Slaton, age 75, of Barnesville, Georgia passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2022. "Larry the Legend" was born August 26, 1947 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Pete and Peggy Phillips Slaton. He was preceded in death by a son, Pete Slaton, sister, Patti Slaton, aunt, Gail Cooper and a nephew, Kelly Manzella. Cars were Larry's life, whether he was selling them, crashing them or racing them. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, spending time with his family, especially his grandkids and making everyone laugh. He loved and treated his nieces and nephews like his own children. Survivors include his wife, Teena Collins; children, Blake (Megan) Slaton, Cody Slaton and Krystle Slaton; numerous grandchildren; siblings, Kim Phillips, Perry Slaton, Joel Slaton, Jonathan Slaton and Jared Slaton; numerous nieces and nephews.
