

Jennifer Louise Shay, daughter of the late Constance and Thomas Shay, was born in Corona, Queens, NY., on April 25,1954. She attended NYC public school, and graduated from Bowne High School in Queens, NY. Jennifer ("Jenny") had a variety interests that she perused. She was employed in several health care facilities, and practically enjoyed working in pediatric settings. Jenny also completed her studies as a paramedic. She had many hobbies including word puzzles, games, card games, and her skill in arts and crafts was often requested. She loved dancing, and was quite skilled in chair/line dancing, as well as swimming/water aerobics. She loved her "educational TV" games and was an avid, daily viewer of "Wheel of Fortune" and "Jeopardy". Her love of sports was well known. Her favorite teams were the NFL Pittsburgh Steelers and the NBA San Antonio Spurs and the International Little League Championships. Those who knew and loved Jenny, were well aware of her love for "Teddy Bears"; she was a life-long collector of a wide variety; with a collection of over 500 bears. Family was very important to her. She was proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild and enjoyed the family gatherings which always included good food, great games, much laughter and wonderful fellowship. She leaves to mourn her passing her sons, Brandon Brooks, Justin Brook, her "daughter" Nykolle Crosby-Black, her sisters Dorothy Thornton (Chet), Bernadette Dingle, Elizabeth Rowland, her brother Thomas Shay (Helen), grandchildren Kaitlyn, Shane, DayShaun and Storm, great-grandson Lamar, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
