Jesse Herbert Merrill, (WWII Army Veteran) age 98 passed away on Saturday December 19, 2020 at his home in Jonesboro Georgia. Jesse was born in Fort Edward New York to Jesse H Sr., (a WWI Army Veteran) and Addie Merrill. He lived in Ballston Spa, New York until he and his wife moved to Georgia in 2004. He was a godly man who enjoyed serving others. He and his wife Elizabeth {Peggy} went on many natural disaster relief mission trips. He was a Patriot that had a deep love for his country. Before entering the U.S. Army, he served his country in the Civilian Conservation Corp. Jesse was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth of 74 years and one great grandchild. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Donna and Richard Perkins [Ballston Spa, N.Y.], David (a Viet Nam Veteran) and Carolyn Merrill [Jonesboro. Ga], Debra Peacock and Carol Fink [Argyle, N.Y.] and Darren (a Cold War Veteran) and Jane Merrill [Fayetteville, Ga]. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, one of whom, Corey Merrill is an Iraq War Veteran, nine great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
