John William Howard, age 79, of McDonough, Georgia passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021. He was born in Lafayette, Alabama to the late Robert and Emma Howard on April 30, 1942. John was preceded in death by his brother, Roy Lee Howard and a sister, Bobbie Jean Jackson. He retired from CSX Railroad and was a U.S. Marine serving his country during the Vietnam War. John was a member of Henry Baptist Church, he loved his church family and anyone who came in contact with him. Mr. Howard is survived by his wife of 38 years, Beverly Howard, children Kelly (Jimmy) Coleman of McDonough, Daryl (Andrea) Brown of Monticello, Darren (Amanda) Howard of Toccoa and Marlana (Brandon) Gokey of Rockmart. One sister, Faye Adcock of Pine Mountain, eleven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Henry Baptist Church. Private interment services will be held at Georgia National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions are asked to be made to the Henry Baptist Church missions fund in honor of Mr. Howard.
