Our deepest condolences to you Ellen and your wonderful family.  We loved John as a friend and a great Coach to
Nikki.  We both agree he was a “Stand up Man”  we respected him in all he did.  
He has lasting impacts on all the girls he coached and the Parents.  
We had some great times on the “Hurricanes”  , and Ellen we want you to know that John had a great impact on Nikki and the Mother & Woman she has become.   We truly love you all and send our prayers.  

Ellen, I'm so sorry to hear about John. Although I didn't know John extremely well, I remember that he seemed to always be in good spirits every time I would see him. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. 

John Mills, my brother in law,  was my friend for 45 years.  In family matters he was a generous person with his time and his efforts.  He always tried to help those of us who had troubles beyond our capacity. He gave me a job in his old sanitation business when I really needed one. For that    I owe him big time.   He was sympathetic to the faults and failures of others  the way people are who have had troubles of their own . He was  a fountain of American family values.   And whether personal or professional he pursued  goals with a fierce independence and determination.  A guided tour around Atlanta suburbs will testify to the  dozens of houses he built; for the benefit of the families who live there; for the benefit of the workers who built those houses.  Certainly, he was ambitious but never at the expense of those he really cared about.  Certainly he was an over-achiever but never at the expense of family  He was a good guy. Don't take my word. read his obituary. It's a glowing report, five star  A plus. Ask his daughters and his grandchildren about Pop. they'll tel you true.  As a family man he had a  Natural goodness, which creates its own validation.
 For Those of us who knew him well his passing is a punch in the gut, a  gnawing desolation   and dissatisfaction with his absence from the world.. 
It is correct to say of John Mills  that he left the world a much  better place than he found it. pax tecum frater meus. May the peace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.

So sorry to hear of John's passing. We are reminded of all the fun and laughs we had playing softball with your girls.  John was always full of laughter and I know you will miss him terribly. Our hearts go out to you all.

So sorry to hear of John’s passing.  We have thought of you guys often and talked of our wonderful softball memories, including our very wet camping trip!  Brings a smile to our faces even today.  John was a very special man and always a treat to spend time with him.  Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers. Mr. Mills is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Ellen H. Mills and three daughters; Kimberly (Scott) Stephens, Caitlin (Ray) Malcolm and Neville (Jayson) Mills. He is survived by eight grandchildren; Ashley, Michael, Mackenzie, Bailey, Jonathan, Will, Brooks and Elle. He is also survived by two sisters Ann Barnes, Chris (Ken) Worrell and four nieces and nephews; Tony Barnes, Brian (Mindy) Barnes, Jason (Amy) Barnes and Amanda (Doug) Holton. Also, five great nieces and nephews; Ian Rosemond, Alex Worrell, Jesse Barnes, Casey Barnes, Peyton Worrell.
