Judy Cheryl Blalock

Mrs. Judy Cheryl Blalock, age 63 of McDonough, Georgia passed away May 26, 2014. Cheryl was born in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Lloyd Carlton and Jimmie Lee Hamby Thomas. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Thomas. Cheryl was a 1969 graduate of Walker High School in Atlanta and was a member of Glen Haven Baptist Church. She and her husband owned and operated Blalock’s Body Shop, Inc. in Decatur for 32 years. She was a member of the Bible Study Fellowship and enjoyed square dancing, crocheting, knitting and spending time being “Mimi” to her granddaughter. Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Charles Blalock; son, Mercer (Stacy) Blalock of McDonough; granddaughter, Anna Grace and grandson of 38 weeks, Mercer Daniel; siblings, Carlton Thomas of Rex, Sam (Shirley) Thomas of Lawrenceville, Jon (Donna) Thomas of McDonough, Daniel (Sunhee) Thomas of Stockbridge and Melody Floyd of Locust Grove; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, May 30, 2014 at 11:00 am from the Glen Haven Baptist Church, 345 Eastlake Road, McDonough, Georgia 30252. Rev. Stan Berrong and Rev. Ralph Easterwood will officiate. Interment will follow at Melwood Cemetery at 3:00 pm. Friends may visit the family Thursday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
