Katherine Ann Taylor Canavan

Mrs. Katherine “Kathy” Ann Canavan, age 60, of Lady Lake, Florida passed away on May 17, 2016. Kathy was born in Macon, Georgia to Joel Dexter and Betty Lou (Bates) Taylor. She began her working career in the music industry, but her greatest accomplishment was being a Mom. Kathy devoted her time and attention to home schooling and served as the Assistant Athletic Director for New Creation Center for four years. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Kathy was known for her smile, contagious laughter, and outgoing personality. She never met a stranger and you were instantly a friend. Walking the beach and crafting with sea glass were among some of the many things that Kathy enjoyed. Kathy leaves behind a legacy that includes the love of her life and husband of more than 30 years, Steve Canavan of Lady Lake, Florida; sons, Shawn Kitchens of Jacksonville Beach, Florida and Jonathan Canavan of Lady Lake, Florida; granddaughter, Leah Kitchens; parents, Joel and Betty Taylor of Macon, Georgia; sister, Marie Peters of Macon, Georgia; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Her son, Thomas “Tommy” Canavan, and brother, Joey Taylor preceded her in death. A private service to honor Kathy’s life will be held by the family. Those planning to attend the service are encouraged to wear colorful casual attire.
