

Otis Fletcher Hammock, aged 75, of Locust Grove, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, January 18th, 2025, surrounded by his wife, children, grandchildren, and sons- and daughters-in-law.
Otis was born on January 2, 1950, to the late Orestus C. Hammock and Gussie M. (Mahone) Hammock. He worked for the Georgia Department of Transportation for 32 years and served in the Army National Guard for the same duration. After retiring, Otis spent 12 years on the Locust Grove City Council, contributing to the community where he lived his entire life. He was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved to spend time with his family, and always looked forward to the annual family vacation in St. Augustine, Florida. He loved day and weekend trips with Bonnie to go see a park or train depot. He was a faithful church member for 44 years and served as Head Usher and taught Sunday School. He loved the Lord and wanted everyone to have a personal relationship with Him and shared Him with as many people as he could. He loved a good joke and an elaborate prank. He loved telling stories and sharing memories from the past.
Otis is survived by his wife of 46 years, Bonnie (Bonner) Hammock; children and their spouses: Cobra and Robert Knowles, Bart and Wendy Hammock, Kevin and Amelia Wiggins, Jessica and Daniel Stancil, Katie and Walter Mayfield, Joshua and Kristina Hammock, Nathan and Miranda Hammock, Janie and Davy Dumas. 21 Grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Otis Hammock will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 26th at Haisten Funeral Home, with Pastor Brady Howard officiating. The burial will follow at the City of Locust Grove Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Saturday, January 25th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Haisten Funeral Home.
